Story of 'Cup Half Empty'

Many a time I have heard the story of ‘Cup Half Empty’, which inspires people to be always ready to learn. Though I keep myself busy learning new things from anybody and everybody, I never took this story so literally until few days back when I went for trip to Prayag, Varanasi and Sarnath. This four day trip was not only refreshing for me but educating as well. I went on this trip with not much expectation and no prejudice and what turned out for me was an awesome experience. It taught me the meaning of faith, it taught me to not to be complacent and it taught me to let old and painful emotions to go and empty the space in your mind and heart to accept happiness and contentment.

What I learnt:
1)      What is faith: It is stepping the stairs in the darkness without fearing any misstep, it is coming back to the bank of river Ganga in millions without thinking about food and shelter but a dip in the river, working for better future without knowing the exact outcome, rising after every fall to keep standing tall forever.

2)      Complacency is the recipe of failure: Don’t be complacent your position; whether good or bad. Only thing which is permanent in life is ‘change’. If you are going through best of phase; don’t take your position for granted because somebody, inspired by you, must be breathing down your neck. If you are going through bad phase; take it as recess, reassess your strength, weakness and opportunity and re-approach the target with new vigour.
3)      Sometime less management is better management: Don’t try to control everything every time. Sometime you should let the control go and go with the flow. You must accept the fact that you can’t control everything; you are just a cog in the wheel and not the complete vehicle.

And what a fun time it was. Some people tried to dissuade me about the huge crowd in Prayag, I was scared of taking dip in the water, leave aside the ride in boat. Let me tell you; had I missed going there, I would have missed one of the best four days of my life. Wooden boat ride in river Ganga, holy dip at Triveni (Where three river Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati meets), Ganga Aarti at Dasaswamedh Ghat, visit to Budhist temples in Sarnath; all in all, it was mind blowing, awesome and I conquered my fear as well.
All these things happened because I had my ‘Cup Half Empty’.
