How to Succeed in Social Media Marketing: Spend time and Make it personal
I was talking to one my client today, a person with more than 10 years of experience in stock market, habituated of seeing and making quick money. He is one of first client, biggest critic and active user of social media, all at the same time. He admitted today that he has got substantial business from social networking, which prompted me to remind him that he never loses a chance to criticise the use of social networking sites. Sheepishly he agreed to my point that social media now a day has become a great tool, not only to create a strong brand image but generate business also, but not before leaving comments that it takes his good amount of time and he has to be personally there to engage with his clients. I could not agree more with him that although social media is not about talking big but about talking business, it takes time and it has to be personal.
So, the mantra of success in social media, other than informative and transparent content are scheduling your content and making it personal. Of course, there are other points also, but these two are very crucial and takes the cake. Scheduling your content means, you will have to hang around there on regular basis, update contents, call for questions, engage users in discussions and then aspire for positive feedback and recommendation, if everything goes well. Each of the users on social media is at least having their finger on all informant of the world. So, they can’t be engaged by just leaving a comment or update, but they will have to be satisfied with all the answers of their queries. To answer their queries satisfactorily, the respondent should either be the owner of organization, because he/she is the person, whose vision has established it, or any other person, who embodies the essence of the organization, who in turn will be again a very crucial person. Then only, the engagement will generate confidence amongst the participants. It is tough for the owners, the management to respond to all the queries participants themselves, but they can delegate this to somebody, who is equally capable and authorised to respond to the points raised.
This, of course will take time, but help you to make the relationship with your client strong and personal. So, my request to you is, hang around, have fun and make the bond personal and strong, it will reap you lots of benefit.
